Community Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct for the HeyCounsel Community
Be Respectful
Always be supportive and helpful to others. Speak to others the way you’d like them to speak to you. Help us keep this place as accessible and inclusive as possible.
No Selling
No selling and no lead generation, please and thank you! This space is strictly for legal professionals to connect and learn from each other. DO NOT contact a member in order to solicit them without their explicit permission. If anyone reaches out to you trying to solicit a product or recruiting service, to push a survey for company purpose, etc., notify brian@heycounsel.com.
Keep it in the Community
This is a safe space for legal leaders to ask questions and share their POV. These conversations should be kept within the confines of the community; no sharing with the outside world.
Remember your legal code of ethics!
While we want to foster an open discussion for the benefit of all, we must all keep in mind our legal and ethical obligations to our clients and their customers. And please do not share confidential or personal identifying information of others, especially your clients. But you already know this...
Further, the platform should solely be used as a means to facilitate information sharing between lawyers such that we can service our clients better; it is not a platform through which lawyers are to provide legal advice.

FAQs
I want to invite a friend to the HeyCounsel community, why can’t I add them?
We keep the group private to ensure there are no vendors or special interests joining the group! If you have a friend or colleague in an in-house legal department who should be involved, have them apply on our main site - heycounsel.com.
Can non-lawyers join?
At this time, non-lawyers are not permitted to join. We want to avoid potential scenarios of non-lawyers seeking legal advice through our community platform. The platform should solely be used to share information between lawyers such that we can service our clients better; it is not a platform to provide legal advice through.
