Who's eligible to be a fractional lawyer on HeyCounsel?

Baseline Requirements:

  1. 5 or more years experience practicing law.

  2. Licensed to practice in the United States.

  3. Referred/Endorsed by at least one previous colleague and one previous client.

  4. In-house experience at reputable companies or extensive generalist experience at reputable law firms.

What do fractional lawyers generally do?

Although the day-to-day will vary depending on the client and the engagement, lawyers are expected to run point for all things legal, including

  1. Navigating murky regulatory waters;

  2. Reviewing inbound contracts and drafting company agreements

  3. Sourcing, vetting and working with outside lawyers

  4. Ensuring effective representation for things outside of their knowledge areas.

Think of them as a legal trail guide, a “right hand lawyer”, or a legal QB.
